Silicone partial finger and hand prostheses
Replacements after finger and partial hand amputations
Benefits at a glance
Grasping and holding
Finger prostheses and partial hand prostheses assume important everyday functions. They expand the gripping options of the affected hand: Keyboards, telephones and other control elements can be used again. They also serve as a counter-support for grasping and holding objects.
Inconspicuous appearance
In addition to their pure functionality, the discreet aesthetics of the prostheses are particularly convincing. The external appearance is restored with deceptive realism by individually designing the shape and colour. Your prosthesis integrates harmoniously into the overall body image and is not discernible to others at first glance.
Intensive use
Directly after getting up and into the late evening hours: Thanks to the custom socket design, your prosthesis fits without closures or pressure points and can be used the entire day.
Individually made to order
Every prosthesis is unique, individually fabricated according to your needs and wishes.
Easy care
With daily care on the inside and outside, you can wear your silicone finger and partial hand prosthesis every day from morning to evening. All you need is water and pH-neutral soap.
Functionality
Material
Ottobock fabricates finger and partial hand prostheses using what is known as medical grade silicone. This silicone material has been tested for skin friendliness and is suitable for medical applications. The high-quality silicone material that is used covers all characteristics of an optimum fitting: functionality, aesthetics and comfort.
Handling
The sensitive residual limb is securely protected by the individual socket design. Using the prosthesis is very straightforward: It can be put on and taken off easily. We recommend using Ottobock ProComfort gel (633S2) to assist with putting on the prosthesis. Thanks to the thin socket edges, the freedom of movement of the adjacent fingers is not impaired and optimum wearer comfort is assured. At the same time, the prosthesis is well secured and firmly held on the residual limb by the vacuum.
Care instructions
The high-quality silicone material that is used covers all characteristics of an optimum fitting: functionality, aesthetics and comfort. Temperature and UV resistance are just some of the benefits of the silicone material. Silicone prostheses are also easy to care for and very straightforward to clean. After use, they should be cleaned on the outside daily with water and pH-neutral soap. Permanent stains do not stand a chance if the care instructions are followed. Silicone also stands out for its thin socket brims, good connection with the residual limb and excellent skin compatibility.
